ENDOSCOPY TREATMENT Two types of endoscopy treatments are provided at Advanced Fertility and Endoscopic Center (AFEC)
1. Laparoscopy
2. Hysteroscopy The clinic is equipped with the latest and most modern equipments for performing endoscopy:3-chip camera, Nd-Yag laser, Harmonic scalpel, electrical Morcellator. The clinic has been recognised as a training centre for endoscopy by the federation of obstetrics & Gynecological societies of India (FOGSI) and KARL STORZ, Germany and trains more than 50 gynecologists in endoscopy every year.
A : diagnostic and operative laparoscopy
This involves the placement of a small telescope (3mm to 10mm in diameter) into the abdomen though the umbilicus. The purpose of this is to visualize the pelvic organs – uterus, tubes, ovaries and to check whether they are normal. A dye is injected to see whether the fallopian tubes are open. If some abnormality is detected, it may be possible to correct it at the same time. In such cases two or three additional incisions of 3mm/ 5mm are placed.
